A Milestone Step

The new program of BSO has not yet been available to the dispersed Baloch, but a very bold message was seen on display at a rally on the streets of Quetta. The banner carried the important message which was in the hearts and minds of every Baloch. It was “Balochistan par Pakistan, Iran awr Afghanistan ka Kabza Namanzoor (the occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan is not accepted).”

BSO being a student organization with responsibilities to help and encourage Baloch students to educate for a better future has a history of bringing awareness and sense of nationhood in Baloch masses. Thanks to BSO today we have determined politicians in Balochistan who are not compromising on national issues and Baloch motherland. Hence it has been a long waited demand of Baloch to challenge the occupation and division of Balochistan.

Even though many are still struggling to grasp the reality of division of Baloch motherland, there are great many who accepted the bitter reality and tried to get on with it. Amongst them were some prominent Baloch politicians who mingled with Pakistani and Iranian as well as Afghan governments in an attempt to find equal treatment within the states. Ultimately, they also concluded that there is something fundamentally wrong with the structures of the said countries; therefore, acquiring fair treatment for Baloch within their structure was simply out of question. Instead of accepting the need and working for the independence of Baloch territories and their ultimate unification some of them are trying to alter the foundation of the countries. Alterations something worth trying, but eventual destiny is total elimination of the artificial borders and achievement of freedom for Baloch nation.

The demand of total cessation of Balochistan from the three occupying counties and its unification is a legitimate right of Baloch, but fundamental work has not been carried out by the political groups in any part of Balochistan. Laying the foundation for this demand by BSO will produce a generation of educated politicians armed with the vision. They can help create such a situation which will determine the true destiny of Baloch nation. BSO will also attract cross border students to become their members and work under one umbrella. It also becomes a responsibility of Baloch students; particularly those in the Middle East, Europe and the USA, but originally from Iran and Afghan occupied Balochistan to obtain membership of BSO and work shoulder to shoulder for acquiring their lost national identity with the territory.
