This was conveyed by visiting Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah during a meeting here with President Asif Ali Zardari. They held discussions on matters related to the region and bilateral ties.
Fattah said Iran is keen to proceed with the project to provide 1,000 MW for Gwadar and adjoining areas. Zardari appreciated Iran's assistance in this regard, said a statement issued by the presidency.
Iran is ready to play a role in defusing tension in the region, Fattah said. He also renewed President Mahmood Ahmedinijad's invitation to Zardari to visit Iran.
