QUETTA: Iranian authorities closed the border with Pakistan on Monday after a suicide bomb blast on the Iranian side of the border killed around 45 people in an attack on a police checkpost, sources said.
The bomber struck the joint headquarters of the Iranian police and anti-narcotics in the Iranian border town of Saravan early on Monday morning. Saravan, a district in the Iranian province of Sistan and Balochistan, is a predominantly Baloch-populated area where the entire population is Sunni Muslim unlike the dominant Shia sect of Islam in rest of the country.
